Nope.
Armor was never intended to be mix-and-matched. (Graphic-wise. Statwise is a different story.)

well mix and matching seems the only way we can get more armor varieties out of the skimpy selection of new armor choices in each chapter

You're saying you don't like the nightfall necro armors?
Personal opinion, I love the Istan and the 1k Sunspear necro armor. They look REALLY nice on my Elonian necro.
And.. I wasn't able to mix and match successfully with any of the previous necro armors either, though, you can with the scar pattern.

Oh god what am I going to do..no mixing and matching my necro elonian armor....my life is ruined...
Its not that big of a deal, not even big enough to make a thread about....
I'm not crying about and I have a necro, perhaps next chapter we will see more mixing and matching.

I personally think that all of the Elonian necro armour for males looks awful. I think the worst is the Primeval stuff, it just looks... stupid.
Besides, all I ever need for my necro is armour with extra energy and armour with extra armour, which I already have.

NIGHTFALL: Lack of combo-able NECRO armors! I attribute this to the new tribal MUD-SMEARS looks on some of the NIGHTFALL necro armors. Therefore, some of the NIGHTFALL armors don't combo well with the previous Prophecies / Factions armors because they just don't fit the same theme--since Prophecies / Factions necro armors are more clean-cut. I would suggest adding a clean-cut version of the MUD-SMEARED NIGHTFALL necro armors so that necro characters get more armor combination choices.

Oh my god... I'm going out right now to buy a rifle and head over to the nearest burger king.

The armors from the other games use different themes and different seam points for the look of the armor.
Just try another combo.

Most armor isn't mixable well. There are very few examples where it doesn't atleast clip into other armor peices or just put a flat out "hole" in you.
The armorsI think are really only seriously tested for graphical errors within its own set.
Just like I think they only put serious test hours into weapons for the models of the class that weild those weapons (and even then..not enough testing goes in sometimes).

well all 5 of my pve characters' armors are mixed, so not being able to do this well for nightfall necro armor is disappointing

I have to say that the only profession that can easily mix different armour sets are assassins. The armour of the other professions just tends to have too many differences for each set for them to go together.
Please tell me you're not one of those guys who has their warrior wearing canthan + sunspear + kuzick armour. *shiver*

Which is a good thing actually, it means we have a large diversity in our armor selection. If every armor used the same modle so it lined up perfectly, there'd be little point in buying different sets.
I love that my Primeval is large and bulky, and my Kurzick is more slim and tight fitting. If this means I can't mix and match (which I don't do anyways, because I think it looks dumb and I don't really need to be "special" or different) between sets, then it's fine by me.
